LOVE. Ok, all of these sample sales are killing me! Stopped by the Theyskens + Theory sale the other day (you know, just to have a look) and came home with a whole bunch of stuff including this little beauty. I can’t remember ever owning a white bag (probably for a good reason since I can’t seem to keep any of my white clothes spot free for more than 10 minutes) but I have a feeling this will be one of my favorites for summer!
LOVE. I always have a hard time finding nice, comfortable summer flats that aren’t super pricey, but the other day when I stopped by Zara, I found these little gems hiding in a corner and it was love at first sight!
GOLD/WHITE. Hey guys! Hope all of you had a great weekend, I spent mine shooting for a fun project I’ve been working on for about a year now and in a couple of days I’ll finally be able to tell you all about it, so excited!
Here’s a bunch of pictures from last week that I never got around posting, love how the gold Phillip Lim clutch makes even the most simple outfit pop.
THE WEEKEND. Had an adventurous weekend running around town trying to hunt down a Kartell lamp I’ve been dreaming about for ages only to find out it was temporarily sold out in every single store I walked into (thanks for the help, universe!). In the end I managed to pre-order one that will be delivered by the end of the week and I can’t wait for it to arrive. I know, I’m probably the only person in the world who gets excited over a lamp, but it’s just so good! And speaking of awesome things, how nice is this little number from Stylestalker? Love their take on the little black dress!

INTERIOR DESIGN. Ok, how amazing is swedish interior stylist Lotta Agatons home? I could move in right this second! Love the mix of textures, the combination of new and vintage pieces, the black & white + the splashes of green from all the lush plants. More pictures below!
GO GREEN. I hope all of you had an amazing weekend, mine involved lots of ice cream, reading and relaxing, all in all the perfect weekend! Here’s a little sneak peek of one corner of our new apartment (recognize those pillows? hehe). There’s really not much too see yet as we’re still in the middle of decorating but as soon as we’re done, I’ll definitely do a post with some more pictures!

HELLO. New season, new shoes! I’m normally not the biggest fan of studded things but after seeing these stunners on a friends feet a couple of weeks ago, I simply had to buy them. Stay tuned for the full outfit post later this week!
WINDOW. Happy Friday! We’re still so obsessed with the new camera (canon 5D mark III for those of you who wondered) and play around with it every chance we get. Here’s a couple of pictures we snapped the other day at Mattias office and I love the light + mood in the shots. Will post the full outfit next week, until then, hope all of you have a great weekend!

BANANAS. Lately I’ve been completely obsessed with jungle prints and in particular Hinson’s Martinique print pictured above. It originated in 1942 as a wallpaper in the iconic Beverly Hills hotel and has since reached somewhat of a cult status among celebrities and interior design junkies. I dream of using it in my livingroom (love the bold statement it makes in Nate Berkus + Brian Attwood’s place above!) or to spice up a bathroom (see below), but until then these stunning Martinique inspired pillows I bought last week will do the trick!

HELLO THERE. After obsessively searching through every single Zara store that crossed my path these past weeks, I finally managed to hunt down these amazing heels. Love the mix of patterns + vibrant colors!
SALE. My favorite time of the year is finally here, the Shopbop friends + family sale!
Use the code WEAREFAMILY13 to get 20% off your order until Thursday april 18 at 11.59 pm PST.
What’s on your shopping list? Personally I wouldn’t mind any of these items:
BLACK/WHITE. I know, I know, spring is here and we’re supposed to dress up in all the colors of the rainbow, but for some reason I’ve been really drawn to simple, black/white outfits lately. I wore the look above during the heatwave last week and I have a feeling that this Andemiu blazer will be one of my favorite pieces for s/s 13!
BLAZER Andemiu (similar ones here & here). SHIRT Gina Tricot (similar one here!). LEATHER SKIRT old one from Zara (similar one here!). BAG Proenza Schouler (here). SUNGLASSES Céline. HEELS H&M
LOVE. Ok, not gonna lie, this is by far the biggest splurge I’ve ever made on a t-shirt, but when I saw this little gem walking down the runway a couple of months ago, I fell in love. It got sold out in about two seconds, but if you want to get your hands on one, it can be pre-ordered here!
SUMMER LAYERING. Never imagined I would be going barelegged mid april but the weather here in NY has been absolutely amazing these past two days! Even though it’s getting warm outside I still like to play around with layers and my trick for summer layering (besides wearing pieces made out of thin, airy fabrics) is to let my blazer or jacket hang over the shoulders, kind of like a cape. Super simple, yet chic and guaranteed to keep you from getting too hot in the summer sun!

BLACK/WHITE. Shot these pictures the other day for a fun collaboration with H&M where I got to style some of my favorite pieces from the New Icons collection. As you might have noticed, I have a soft spot for leather jackets & wide brimmed hats, so choosing my favorites really was a no-brainer.
I went for a simple, 70′s inspired look and paired the Icon pieces with a striped shirt + these insane wide legged pants (not part of the collection but too fun to pass on) and tried my best to channel my inner Lauren Hutton while strutting the streets of New York. Love how the pictures turned out and can’t wait for the collection to hit stores this week so I can snag a hat of my own!

NYC. This past weekend has been one of the most fun, yet exhausting ones in a really long time. We’ve managed to move into our new apartment here in New York, squeeze in two trips to Ikea, assemble all the furniture + unpack all of our luggage, and even though we’re still nowhere near done decorating the apartment, it’s already starting to feel like home. Every morning when I wake up and look out the window I have to pinch myself in the arm, just to make sure I’m not dreaming, but we’re actually, finally, living here and I couldn’t be happier!

NEW YORK. I know I’ve been neglecting the blog this past week, but I’ve been preparing for something super exciting that I’ve been dying to tell you guys about! Right now my entire life is packed in boxes and on Friday morning I will be on a plane to my new hometown, New York. Am I nervous? Absolutely, but challenging yourself is exactly what makes you grow as a person, and this is an opportunity I wouldn’t dream of missing out on.
This weekend me and Mattias will be moving into our new apartment which doesn’t have a single piece of furniture as we speak, but I’m praying that our bed arrives on time so we won’t have to spend our first night in NY on the floor. I hope you guys will understand if the updates on the blog are a bit sporadic during the first few days but I’m so, so excited to take you with me on this adventure!
TWINSIES. When my best friend Andy was in town over the weekend, we joked about how we always buy the same things, often without each others knowledge. So, when we realized that we had almost identical outfits packed in our suitcases, we decided to have some fun with it. After obsessively googling pictures of creepy twin girls for an hour or so, the idea of this photo shoot was born, and I have to say, it was one of the most fun shoots I’ve ever done!
ORANGE. Let me introduce you guys to my two latest obsessions; simple, stackable rings and this bright orange sweater from Dagmar. I have so many summery looks in mind for this thin, knitted masterpiece once mr winter finally lets us out of his cold grip, but until then, I give you this set of pictures we snapped during our weekend at Scandic Grand Central, love the futuristic feel!
THINK PINK. Last week H&M’s new store concept & Other Stories finally opened in Stockholm and even though I kind of wanted to buy everything, the only things I left with was two lipsticks. One in a fun bright shade called Ninon pink, and one in a more subtle, sheer pink for everyday use named Reticella Pink. Mixed together, they turn into this gorgeous raspberry pink shade which is excactly what I’ve been searching for!
GRAND. Me and Mattias spent the weekend at the lovely Scandic Grand Central and I seriously can’t remember the last time I felt this rested. In the beginning of April we will be moving into our new apartment and as we’ve already moved out of our old one, we’ve been living with my parents for a while. Eventhough it’s great to get to spend some time with the family, it kind of drives you slightly crazy after a while, and to get 3 days alone in a beautiful, quiet room was a dream come true. The fact that my BFF Andy who’s been in town for a couple of days stayed at the hotel during the same time only made things even better.
A couple of days ago I finally took the plunge and bought the camera of my dreams and even though it left a gigantic hole in my savings, it’s the best darn investment I’ve ever made. Since I’m ridiculously excited about my new toy, I obsessively snapped everything that came in my way over the weekend. Hence, this rather random photo diary!
GOLD FEVER. You already know about my obsession with all things shiny, and when these crackled gold bags hit the runway at the 3.1 Phillip Lim s/s 13 show, my jaw dropped to the floor. Since then they have been frequent guest stars in my daydreams where I thought they would stay, until Mattias suprised me with this little gem
for my birthday two weeks ago, absolutely love it!!
GOLDEN BAG 3.1 Phillip Lim (here). CANDLE Byredo ‘Fleur Fantôme’.
NYC. It probably doesn’t come as a surprise that one of my favorite s/s 13 trends is stripes. After searching through the jungle of over-ambitiously striped blazers that leave you with a slight feeling of vertigo, this one really caught my eye. Love the clean lines & the subtle bling of rhinestones scattered over the stripes!
GO GREEN. Every season I always try to invest in a few key pieces in bright colors and this year I’m going all in with Pantone’s color of the year, Emerald Green. There’s just something about this vibrant, lush shade that exudes happiness and I can’t think of a better hue to meet summer in!
P.S. For more colorful inspiration, head over to my Pinterest.
NEW IN. Couldn’t believe my eyes when I found this awesome jacket among the leftovers at the Zara sale the other day. Something about the color combinations reminds me of a wild, stormy ocean and I can definitely see this little gem becoming one of my asbolute favorite pieces come summer!
NYC. Whenever Mattias and I shoot pictures for the blog, we always do a bunch of goofy photos that never see the light of day, until now. Yesterday when we were shooting this amazing coat from Nanette Lepore I decided to do some jumping shots just for fun and ended up liking them so much that I decided to post them instead. Now the million dollar question is; how could it take me 7 years of blogging to discover the awesomeness of jumping photos, and how do we make it a permanent feature on the blog?!
NYC. My super talented friend Zanita snapped these pictures of me during the snowstorm that hit New York a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely love the moody light in them! Even though the city looks quite peaceful in these pictures I can assure you that was definitely not the case, and I’m pretty sure I was actually hoovering above the ground due to the strong winds at one point when we shot these photos. But you know what they say, no pain no gain, and I really love how the pictures turned out!
NYC. Woke up to some pretty sweet spring weather this morning and decided to throw on my fringe boots and prance around in the sun for a while. Can’t believe I’m leaving New York next week even though it’s for a good reason (my birthday!!), but I still have seven precious days left in the big city and I fully intend to make the most of them!
EYECANDY. It’s been a while since I posted one of these mood boards so I thought it was time for a new one. This time I went all in with some of my favorite items in the girliest of girly shades, pink!
NYC. As you’ve probably noticed I’m not a big fan of heavy winter jackets so in order to stay warm during the colder months I go for lots of layers on top of uniqlo heattech tops and leggings. One of my absolute favorite pieces for layering is this leather vest I bought at H&M 2 years ago. It looks good on top of/underneath pretty much anything (in this case layered over an awesome s/s 13 Andemiu jacket) and it’s one of those pieces I always bring with me when I travel!
NYC. Had the most amazing weekend running around town doing touristy things with Nicole and one of my favorite places we stopped by was the Brooklyn Bridge. Eventhough I’ve been to New York countless times, one of the places I’ve never visited is the Brooklyn Bridge, so for me it was a dream come true to finally go there. Although shooting blog pictures on top of a bridge in the middle of a storm might not have been our brightest idea, it still was a magical experience watching the pastel colored sunset over the city!
NYC. Finally got my hands on this awesome, flared trench coat I wore during the photo shoot of Andemiu’s s/s 13 campaign back in december. It’s one of those classic pieces that looks good with anything and I love how timeless it is!
Today it’s been raining non stop for the past couple of hours and I’ve been stuck inside drinking tea and editing pictures from my touristy weekend adventures with Nicole all day long. We got some pretty awesome pictures on the Brooklyn bridge that I can’t wait to show you guys, but until then, you can check out some sneak peeks on my instagram @carolinaengman.
P.S. for those of you who are in Japan right now, Andemiu is opening their first store this week so if you want to stop by, head over to their website for more information!
NYC.This awesome silk bomber jacket from Carin Wester is one of my absolute favorite pieces when it comes to outerwear, love the oversized silhouette! Layered over a leather vest it actually managed to keep me warm during the colder days of fashion week which is something worth celebrating on it’s own.
Almost all of my friends left for London fashion week yesterday but I still have a good two weeks left in New York before I head back to snowy Stockholm, and I fully intend to make the most out of the snow-free streets + “warm” weather so stay tuned for lots of more outfit posts!
NYC. We snapped these pictures the day before the snow blizzard hit New York and I can’t believe how quickly the weather changed! I’m so happy that I brought this emerald green cashmere sweater with me to NY to keep me warm + brighten up my looks, it’s definitely been a lifesaver during these past couple of days. Tonight I’m heading to the Bloglovin x Kenzo party which I’m co-hosting, and I’m so excited to finally get to catch up with all the people I haven’t seen due to the usual fashion week madness!
NYFW. I’ve been eyeing this coat for such a long time and when I found it at the Zara sale I couldn’t help but buying it, so perfect! Right now I’m heading out for dinner but stay tuned for the full look in tomorrows post, and don’t forget to follow me on instagram @carolinaengman.
NEW IN. Isn’t it ironic that the very same day I got these stunning heels, a snowstorm hit New York? Damn you Nemo! Keeping my fingers crossed that the weather will get better soon so I can wear these beauties!
BACKSTAGE. Remember back in December when I went to New York for a photoshoot? Well, it was for the campaign + lookbook of the new japanese brand Andemiu which I am the face of for s/s 2013! I can’t wait to show you guys the official campaign pictures but until then I thought I’d share some behind the scenes pictures my boyfriend snapped during the shoot.
NY. Hey guys! So sorry about the radio silence these past 10 days! Me and my boyfriend are in the middle of moving and there has just been so much stuff to sort out that I had to put the blog on hold for a while. Somewhere in between all the stress and traveling I managed to catch the flu but now I’m finally starting to feel better again!
Arrived to New York for fashion week yesterday and I’m so exicted to be back in the city again! I still have lot’s of pictures left from my last trip here 2 months ago so tomorrow I’ll be posting a little photo diary + behind the scenes of the photo shoot I did and don’t forget to follow me on instagram @carolinaengman for lot’s of more NY pictures!
LOVE. When this oversized leather vest hit the runway in 2011 I fell head over heels in love with it and deemed it my must-have item of f/w 11. After months of anticipation it finally hit stores and let’s just say my every hope of owning it died the second I saw the hefty price tag of nearly 2000 dollars.
Now, imagine my excitement when 2 years later I find the very same vest that used to keep me up at night at 75 % off in a corner of Acne Archives (a must visit if you’re ever in Stockholm). It didn’t take me more than 2 seconds to make my mind up and now it hangs safely in my closet, waiting for that perfect moment to shine!
ALL BLACK. If someone would have told me a year ago that I would be into puffer jackets again I would probably just have laughed, yet here I am wearing one! I bought it during one of the colder days in NY and ended up liking it so much that I bought a vest version of it as well. They’re both super light weight, work great layered under coats & jackets and take up absolutely no space in a suitcase. In other words, perfect for traveling!
ELLE. Went to the swedish Elle Gala this Friday with my friend Ida and had such an amazing time. I wore a lovely mint green dress from Dagmar’s s/s 13 collection and she a super cool black & white dress from Diana Orving, and apart from stepping on each others dresses every 5 seconds, we had a total blast!
Huge thanks to Elle for a magical evening and to the lovely people at Dagmar for letting me wear this stunning dress!
