Diane

Diane Von Furstenberg is launching two books this week. The first one is Journey of a dress, which celebrates the 40 years that have passed since she made the iconic wrap dress (which I love) and the second one is The woman I wanted to be, which sets focus on her personal journey through life. Way to go, Diane!

National Handbag Day Spotlight: The Diane von Furstenberg Large Sutra Ready to Go Fringe Tote

Every member of the PurseBlog staff has counted themselves as residents of New York City at one point or another, and that means that we all appreciate a tote bag that’s both stylish and functional. For our fourth National Handbag Day handbag reveal, we’re proud to present a bag that’s just that: the Diane von Furstenberg Large Sutra Ready to Go Fringe Tote.

NHD-DvF-4

The tote, which is part of our special series with Bloomingdale’s in celebration of National Handbag Day, is everything we look for to liven up our dark city wardrobes. Not only is the vibrant red color totally gorgeous (and, not to mention, difficult to achieve in leather), but the fringe adds a bit of texture without adversely affecting functionality.

NHD-DvF-1

The cherry on top, of course, is the contrasting pop of fuchsia that peeks out from inside the bag. When combined with its large size and lightweight construction, this bag is a perfect option for showing off a bit of your personality at work or toting your kid’s essentials on the weekend. That the bag can work for such a range of needs is one of our favorite things about it.

Pick up one of your own for $498 via Bloomingdale’s.

Instagram’s Best Bags of NYFW

As New York Fashion Week comes to a close, we couldn’t help but roundup some of the best bags we found on our Instagram feed this week, including some finds on the arms of our favorite bloggers, stylists and magazine editors. While we love the runway shows and seeing what next season has to offer, the bag watching at Lincoln Center is (dare we say it) even better. We found both classic bags and pieces we’d never seen before, so make the jump below to see what some of NYFW’s most famous attendees are carrying this season.

Want It Wednesday: Mini Bags Aren’t Just for Summer

Want It Wednesday: Mini Bags Aren’t Just for Summer

Mini bags are most often associated with warm weather; after all, who doesn’t want her hands free during the season’s outdoor activities? They’re just as useful during the fall, though, especially when coat weather comes around and regular shoulder bags compete with your outerwear for shoulder real estate. Now that basically every popular bag comes in a mini size, along with all the bags that were designed to be mini from the beginning, your choices are vast no matter the season. For this edition of Want It Wednesday, the team has enumerated its favorites below.

Jessica on Washington St.

I have a kind of feeling that today, when everybody is wearing ripped jeans, tattoos and studs, being different is being dressed like Jessica.

I’ve always loved these types of silhouettes, super feminine and cinematic – way too complicated to achieve for me (I love my jeans and my sneakers too much!) but I love seeing girls dressed like that on the street and I’m secretly dreaming that one day, a wind of change will take me and that I will become this extremely feminine woman that makes heads turn.

In the meantime, I admire ;)

Want It Wednesday: Memorial Day Weekend Essentials

I thought we had at least one more week before Memorial Day, but apparently not. Summer is here in all its glory this weekend, and for several members of our team, that means it’s time for a three-day sojourn to the beach. I’ll simply be headed to Prospect Park on Monday, but my needs will be largely similar to the beach-goers among us: comfy summer clothes, sun protection and something to carry it all in. Check out our pre-Memorial Day Want It Wednesday essentials below!

“There are items that, through the time, not only become iconic but make fashion history.
Diane Von Furstenberg signature wrap-dress is one of these”. Here is how I started the post talking to you about the iconic Dvf wrap dress and about the exhibition which celebrated its 40 years.
And then? Then It was my turn to wear it and make it mine.
And I chose Los Angeles and my beloved Melrose, feeling a bit like a modern diva wearing a dress that has been worn by some of my biggest icons, living my American dream

Want It Wednesday – Think Pink

Want It Wednesday – Think Pink

When I think of warm weather, I think of pink. Some people gravitate toward yellow or orange, but I prefer pink’s diversity and versatility; blush is delicate enough for the first timid days of springs, and hot pink will serve you well through the hottest days of summer. And then there’s rose gold, which is an argument for the shade unto itself. For this week’s Want It Wednesday, the PurseBlog team compiled its favorite pink picks from around the web.

Born Free Collections Seeks to End Fetal AIDS Transmission, Sell You $225 Celine Bag

Born Free Collections Seeks to End Fetal AIDS Transmission, Sell You $225 Celine Bag

It takes a truly special cause to get brands as exclusive as Celine and Prada to abandon their normally sky-high pricing structures, but with Born Free, they’ve done just that. Born Free is a charity fashion initiative that combines the powers of Vogue and ShopBop to bring together 22 top designers in an effort to end fetal AIDS transmission worldwide by December 31, 2015. A big part of that effort will be a limited edition run of special pieces designed by some of the biggest names in fashion.

On the handbag end, the most exciting piece is the Celine tote above, which, like all of the pieces, features one of a handful of custom prints designed by Kenyan artist Wangechi Mutu. The bag is all canvas and made in China, but both the price is right and the cause is good, so we won’t blame anyone who picks one up. Check out all the handbags in the collaboration below or shop the full collection (including a totally gorgeous Prada skirt for less than $300) via ShopBop. And you should feel good about shopping – every purchase price will be matched by the MAC AIDS Fund.

INNER BRADSHAW

One of the first things that comes to mind when I think of Carrie Bradshaw is tulle, tulle and more tulle. I recently and FINALLY got the complete DVD collection of Sex and The City, which I have been meaning to for ages, but for whatever reason I was always postponing it. The point is, I had forgotten how inspiring Carrie is/was -Can you believe its been 10 years since the season finale?!-. I kept looking at her wardrobe on the show and even if I wouldn’t have worn half of the stuff, not literally at least, there were things to take and edit from every single look. Thats when I decided to make this very simple 2 layer tulle skirt, mainly for under or over layering.
I was wearing this simple grey DVF dress yesterday and I thought it was the perfect canvas to try my under layer and channel my inner Carrie Bradshaw.

And during my last day in Paris, before publishing on The Blonde Salad all the fashionweek looks, here is one of the outfits I chose for a night out in the french land, with a Diane Von Furstenberg Perry dress as main character.
The chosen location? The terraces of what has been my house in Paris for these days, with a view on the Eiffel tower and Tuileries gardens.

Want It Wednesday: All Animal Print Everything

Here at the PurseBlog offices, we’re intent on marching forth into spring, even if the weather intends not to cooperate with our sartorial whims until late May. (Please, please let it warm up, or at least stop snowing, before then. For our sanities’ sakes.) In that spirit, today’s edition of Want It Wednesday covers all things animal print; how better to make a season transition? Because everything from leopard to snakeskin tends to be composed of neutral shades, animal prints are season-busting must-haves if you’re going to keep yourself sane until it gets warm.

I never thought myself much of an anglophile until I got into fashion. There’s something about London that brings together luxury and innovation in such a playful way that every season, I look forward to London Fashion Week more than any other, even if the names are generally newer and the brands generally smaller. British retailers are also some of my favorites to browse, which is why we’ve selected MATCHESFASHION.COM for this week’s edition of The International Edit.

The site just released a new edition of its print magazine, featuring Lake Bell and some beautiful Oscar de la Renta pieces, and we gave MATCHESFASHION.COM a little edit of our own. The Best Runway Bags of New York Fashion Week Fall 2014

The Best Runway Bags of New York Fashion Week Fall 2014

Another New York Fashion Week has come and gone, and as we prepare for the Fall 2014 collections cross the Atlantic to roll through Europe for the next three weeks, it’s important to take stock of what happened in Manhattan and what it tells us about where our accessories dollars are headed in the second half of the year.

First, designers are putting their biggest emphasis ever on exotics and fur, so you should either get ready to spend $20,000 on a handbag or get ready to buy a $2,000 consolation prize. For top-tier designers; there’s little downside to courting the ultra rich; not only does it enable them to move five-figure handbags, but it makes the brand’s more accessible designs all the more attractive to regular luxury customers. Beyond the clear texture trends, many collections had another thing in common: plenty of blue accessories, from powder to navy.

2. You are roadtesting the new Heattech Skin.

3. Tights don’t go with your full Prada look.

4. You are on your way to the club after your next show.

5. You are on the runway.

6. You are allergic to pants.

We’re in for Another Season of See-Through Handbags

If you’re not a person who keeps a tidy handbag, skip this post entirely – you don’t want the world to see the various and sundry receipts, loose change and tampons you have floating around down there. (I know what’s in there because I am guilty as well.) For the rest of you with better cleaning habits than us, clear handbags are back again for one more season of see-through fun.

We had almost put the nail in the coffin of this trend, but then PVC got super trendy for shoes and everyone from Chanel to Tory Burch has gone clear for one more season. Thankfully, the PVC panels help prices take a bit of a nosedive, but whether that’s a fair tradeoff for showing your stuff to the world is up to you.

Diane Von Furstenberg journey of a dress exhibition

Melissa_Findley-Tuula-DVF-11 copia

There are items that, through the time, not only become iconic but make fashion history.
Diane Von Furstenberg signature wrap-dress is one of these. A dress which is suitable for every kind of body type, that immediately makes us feel classy and ready for every occasion. A dress which has been worn by thousands of women, hundreds of celebrities, that was painted in every kind of colour and experimented all types of patterns.
A dress which turned forty this year.
And It was a huge celebration: in Los Angeles, at LACMA Museum, with an exhibition that, before open to the public from January 11th, was celebrated with a beautiful event. An army of mannequins, all wearing the wrap-dress.
Hundreds of photos and art pieces of these epic forty years. And her, Diane Von Furstenberg in person, to make us all feel at home. Ready to celebrate the dress that changed the rules of fashion.

E lei, Diane Von Furstenberg in persona, a far sentire tutti a casa. Pronti a festeggiare l’abito che ha cambiato le regole della moda.

My tomboy look from yesterday doesn’t really encapsulate my entire style, which is mainly what I love about clothes, that I can wear them however I want. I get to look like a boy, but then I get to look really girly too, if I wanted to that is.
I guess this look is the exact example of what I would LOVE to be wearing right now -if it wasn’t freezing and raining-, maybe I can just wear it indoors, pretend I am about to fly back to Mexico and go for an exciting holiday by the beach(?)

AnnaSophia Robb Carries a Diane von Furstenberg Bag on Set

AnnaSophia Robb Carries a Diane von Furstenberg Bag on Set

Here’s AnnaSophia Robb carrying another contemporary (though 80s-tastic) bag while filming scenes from The Carrie Diaries on location in NYC. In this case, it’s a hot pink Diane von Furstenberg Flirty Lips Mini Crossbody Bag. Last time, it was a bag that is absolutely notorious amongst S&TC fans – the Fendi Baguette. The Carrie Diaries is, of course, an S&TC prequel now in its second season on The CW. You can get AnnaSophia’s/Carrie’s bag for $245 at Saks.

We can forgive little wardrobe inaccuracies on the set of The Carrie Diaries, of course, because the show’s costuming department is obviously pretty fab. The 1980s have become one huge, puffy-sleeved fashion cliche in the last 20 plus years, and being able to make that decade look fresh and appealing (fashion-wise, at least) to a modern audience at this point in the game is truly a feat.

Glam rock with Diane Von Furstenberg

_MG_5475 copia

It’s easy to notice: I lately love leopard prints, in each of its variations and on all kind of accessories.
That’s the reason why I chose these Diane Von Furstenberg coat and bag, both from the new #DVFGlamRock collection, extremely sophisticated but with a rock and roll soul, exactly how I like it.
Here is one of my effortlessly chic looks shot last week in a rainy day in Milano, just before leaving for Seoul: the red sunglasses and pointed flat shoes are, to me, the cherry on top for an easy but bold outfit.
Are you ready to become a rockstar and a muse with Diane Von Furstenberg?

By now, if you consume any national media in the US at all (or if you’ve read this blog at all this week before today), you’ve probably heard plenty of New York-based people complain that it’s hot. Because it is! It is very hot, and as I understand it, the astronomical rent that we pay to live in this city includes a fee that gives us carte blanche to whine about everything, always, and make the rest of the country listen to it. Because I was not raised here, though, I feel the need to reward you for listening our whining, and today, I’ll do that with a roundup of the Internet’s best bag deals. Kindly ignore the fact that we do this every Friday anyway.

Beyond just our picks, we also have some other deals to let you in on. Reiss is having a 70% off sale over at their website that you’ll want to check out, plus ongoing sales at Bloomingdale’s and Nordstrom. Today is a good day to be looking for indoor activities.

Diane von Furstenberg Makes The Perfect Bag To Take You From Summer Into Fall

Diane von Furstenberg Makes The Perfect Bag To Take You From Summer Into Fall

Handbag transitions can be hard. Not only do colors change from season to season, but so do textures and shapes. All three of those elements combine to give a bag its overall feel, and finding a finished product that can straddle two seasons is no small feat, especially when you don’t have an unlimited handbag budget. If that sounds like a problem you’re trying to solve, look no further than the Diane von Furstenberg 440 Mini Shoulder Bag.

First, the color of this bag is perfect if you’re looking for something to carry literally year-round. It’s somewhere between winter white and beige, with a slightly lighter central panel and a bit of very subtle lizard embossing on the top flap. This is the type of color that mixes well with either cutoffs or a chocolate brown wool coat, and there aren’t a lot of colors of which the same can be said. It’s a fine line to walk.

Then you’ve got shape. Summer is the season of mini bags, and often the same type of tiny purse can look out of place when the weather turns cooler. At 11 inches wide, this bag calls itself “mini,” but that’s only true relative to the satchel from which it takes its name. In reality, this is more of a medium-size shoulder bag that can be carried either as a crossbody or with the chain strap doubled, which means that the feel can be more casual and summer-appropriate or formal and fall-like. Also, the texture of the leather plays into the shape nicely – it’s not too rigid, but structured enough that the bag won’t look like a sloppy summer option that got carried over a little too far into October.

What’s nicest, though, is the price. At $295, this bag barely moves the needle as far as handbag prices go, and for that price, you get a versatile, well-designed bag that’ll be in your rotation well beyond the end of summer. Buy through Net-a-Porter for $295.

A Dozen Wallets Under $300 to Organize All That Stuff in Your Handbag

A Dozen Wallets Under $300 to Organize All That Stuff in Your Handbag

Confession: I don’t carry a wallet. I haven’t in years, perhaps even since college. In my bag, I have a slim Proenza Schouler billfold for cash and a Marc Jacobs card case that’s attached to my keys, and because I’m something of a minimalist when it comes to what I put inside my handbag, I usually leave it at that. I did not inherit this trait from my mother, who carries no fewer than four wallets at a time, but I feel as though I’m qualified to pontificate on the subject anyway. She raised me, after all.

Yesterday, a friend asked if I had any leads on a good wallet under $300 that would hold all the essentials, and I realized that, actually, I didn’t. That seemed to mean that I was in dereliction of duty as an accessories writer, so I set out on the journey to the perfect (and perfectly accessible) wallet yesterday, and this is what I found. These wallets are all “long” or “continental” – the most space for your wallet dollar, as it were. If you prefer something more compact, the good news is that basically all these brands make similar styles in a smaller footprint. Check out the spoils of my search below.

For Fall 2013, Animal Print Bags are More Muted

For Fall 2013, Animal Print Bags are More Muted

When I spoke to Net-a-Porter fashion director Holli Rodgers a few weeks ago regarding Pre-Fall and Fall 2013′s big accessories trends, she expressed a bit of a reticence toward animal prints, and leopard in particular. In fact, Rodgers reported that she had tried to make it through the whole buying season without adding any leopard-print bags to the Net-a-Porter fall roster, although that didn’t quite come to pass. She may not be the only person who’s experiencing a bit of animal print fatigue; pre-fall and fall collections still feature plenty of animal bags, but many of them have a less aggressive feel than in seasons past.

With the notable exception of Gucci Fall 2013, animal prints, including leopard, zebra, giraffe and snake, feel more subtle in a variety of ways. On some bags, the materials are now implemented as trim instead of as the main attraction; on others, the contrast had been dialed down to make the print look paler than it might have been in past seasons. The most extreme example, of course, is tonal leopard, where only a difference in texture makes the print apparent. Check out the best examples of the trend below, and let us know – do you still love animal prints or are you ready for something new?

24/7

Here’s a few things that struck me this week:

#1 – A red, black, and white carpet.

The CDFA ceremony was Monday and I was there! Vive le CFDA!

Granted, nothing will ever be like the first time (I mean, it’s not every day that you get the Eugenia Sheppard Award and you end the night drinking with bare-feet under the table at the Boom Boom Room),but it was fun to be there and be a little detached about it…

I was super comfortable in a sequin DVF suit and I could see celebrities lining up to get their photo taken on the red carpet, the photographers yelling out some of their names, totally ignoring others, and some unknowns trying to sneak onto the red carpet to get their 15 minutes of fame.

This little circus always leaves me perplexed, amused, depressed, and completely fascinated all at the same time.

#2 – A Rated R Room.

At a dinner to support the LGBT Community Center, we were greeted in a room that was entirely covered in this mural by Keith Haring (yes, yes. Pretty graphic).

It’s a community center in the center of town (not far from my house) that has been welcoming the LGBT community since the 70s (meaning they’ve seen some dark years)(and there’s still work to do!), and lately they’ve been hosting a lot of gay weddings!

It goes without saying that I support them.

#3 – Marvelous streets.

I love my neighborhood, Greenwich Village. It’s so dreamy when springtime evenings finally arrive.

After a long day of work, I love taking a walk in the final rays of sunshine, sitting on the steps of a brownstone and watching the world go by.

#4 – Shots that burn.

No seriously, literally, those little shots that burn down your throat.

My last trip to Europe did me in. I was so exhausted, I didn’t go to the gym for 3 weeks and could barely lift my arm. Jet lag was killing me.

Delphine, my agent and head honcho (I’m putting together a career interview with her. Don’t hesitate to toss questions our way!!!), said to me:

“Go get some shots at Organic Avenue!”

I said: “I’m okay. I’m off the juicing band-wagon.”

She said: “It’s not a juicing thing. They’re like mini-shots that are chuck full of vitamins. It’ll do a body good.”

I was obedient and she was right. It put me back on my feet.

My favorite was called Dragon’s Breath. It burns down your throat ginger style (Maybe it’s what Keith was on when he painted the room at the LGBT center? Ha!) but I loved it!

That said, I’m not a big fan of drug vocab being applied to food. I know that it’s been around forever (vodka shots, right?) but I hate when I’m walking down the street and there’s a board that says something like “Get your FIX of protein with our delicious chicken…” or something like that.

Is it too much or is it just me? Aaaaah, anyways…

#5 – A Hangout with you.

It was so cool to meet with you yesterday!

Outside of a few technical difficulties (we had to change the computer three times!), it was so great to share a conversation with you, so simple, so awesome.

You can watch it again here on YouTube. I hope to do another if you guys are in and we’re trying to figure out the best way of making it more interactive, so don’t hesitate if you have ideas or questions.

So thank you again to everyone that participated and watched. Nothing brings me more pleasure to sharing moments like this with you and I love the Internet for that reason.

When I started the blog, I responded to each and every comment that I could, and if I could I’d still do it – because it’s really the part that’s most important to me: the conversation.

Next time, I’d love to talk about the blog & photography (I get a lot of e-mails about it) and body image and such (lots and lots of comments about that too), and whatever else you want to talk about!

All you have to do is ask ;-)

I love it.

Also…

A Eddie Borgo bracelet: I wore it the night of the CFDAs and I’ll talk to you about it again soon and its super cool New York designer.

Some very 80s music: Nightcall by Kavinsky. Is it even possible to get that kind of music out of your head?

I send big hugs to you all!

15 clutches to get you through wedding season

15 clutches to get you through wedding season

If my Facebook and Instagram feeds from this past weekend are any indication, wedding season has officially arrived. If you’re ill-prepared for the festivities you’ll face over the next few months, you’re probably not alone – figuring out what to wear to a wedding can be a little tricky for anyone who lacks a closet full of perfect spring dresses and coordinating clutches. Because that might not be you (and it’s certainly not me), we hunted down the types of handbags you’ll want to be carrying to spring and summer nuptials, and they range in price from less than $50 to more than $2,000. (You know, just in case some cousin of yours decided on a crazy destination wedding that’ll cost thousands just to attend.)

Naturally, there are a few things you’ll want to look for, especially if you want to get a full wedding season (or two – no reason you can’t still use these bags next year) out of your clutch purchase. First, pick something relatively neutral. That doesn’t mean that the clutch can’t have a print – in fact, prints work beautifully on small bags because they don’t overpower an outfit or a printed dress – but pick something in a color or colors that’s season-appropriate and not too trendy. Second, don’t be afraid to have a little fun; weddings are a great opportunity for whimsy and girlishness that might feel too precious elsewhere.

12 Black and White Bags to Get You Into One of Spring’s Most Sophisticated Trends

12 Black and White Bags to Get You Into One of Spring’s Most Sophisticated Trends

It seems like we’ve been talking about black-and-white bags forever, but based on the current slate of neutral, bicolor bags that have now arrived in stores for spring, the trend has only just begun. We gave you a rundown of nine styles to get you started on the right path back in January, but now we’ve got another dozen that you should consider now that spring has arrived. If you’re looking for an office-appropriate bag for warmer weather or just want your weekend looks to be a little more sophisticated than neon or raffia allows, we’ve got some suggestions.

The charms of black-and-white bags are many and varied: a wide swath of black leather makes the bags’ white elements seem less precious and fragile, the combination of the two colors manages to be simultaneously professional and trendy, combining dark and light neutrals generally creates a seasonless bag that you can carry for a long time to come. What’s nice about the particular combination of black and white, though, is that it lends a note of modernism that’s very fashionable right now without making anyone commit to a minimalist look; it can fit in with almost any aesthetic. Below, we’ve selected some of the best on the market right now.

Flared gusset bags still going strong, not going away

Flared gusset bags still going strong, not going away

If this post seems like deja vu, you’re not entirely wrong. Over seven months ago, we wrote about how the flared gusset, made popular by Phoebe Philo at Celine and the brand’s now-inescapable Luggage Totes and Trapeze Bags, had turned into a full-fledged trend of its own. As spring bags flooded into stores, I couldn’t help but marvel at how many bags are still embracing the look, particularly now that Luggage Totes themselves are no longer as difficult to get as they once were. Over at Business of Fashion, they noticed the exact same phenomenon.

In the BOF piece, Bergdorf Goodman’s Linda Fargo even goes so far as to favorably compare Celine to Hermes, and when a fashion retail heavyweight like Fargo uses those words, they’re not to be taken lightly. As Celine’s gussets get seemingly wider and wider, expect to see the brand’s influence in the realm of handbag design widen as well. Below, we’ve rounded up some of the best new options on the market for spring that will get you on board with the trend without requiring that you fly to New York to visit the Celine Madison Avenue mothership.

The Best Bag Deals of the Weekend of March 22

Today is officially the first Friday of spring! It might not feel like we’ve moved on to a new season in much of the US, but the calendar tells me so, and I believe it. (Maybe I just believe it because it’s too depressing not to, though.) In light of that, we thought we’d stock our weekly bag deals post with some rosy options to make your day a little bit warmer. If you’re looking for a bag to get you through the spring transition, many of these will do just that, and they’ll do it without emptying your budget for the rest of your spring wardrobe.

Make the transition to spring with Saks and Diane von Furstenberg

Make the transition to spring with Saks and Diane von Furstenberg

Spring might not quite have sprung outside (at least in New York – you may be luckier than we are), but it has definitely sprung inside Saks Fifth Avenue, circa the Diane von Furstenberg handbags. DVF’s spring bags have arrived in stores and online, and with materials ranging from raffia to lizard-embossed leather, they’re just the thing to get you through the seasonal transition and onto the right track for the weather ahead.

The bag collection is themed around spring wanderlust, and the bags themselves (an ever-growing part of Diane’s brand) are a study in how just the right note of color can transform a look. Most of the bags are rendered in combinations of ivory, grey, black and gold, but throughout, you’ll find notes of coral that make these easy-to-wear neutrals perfect for spring. If you’re more the type of woman who wants her entire bag to be the bright accent, well, DVF’s got a few options for you as well. Take a look at our picks from the collection below or shop the new DVF collection at Saks.

The Look Right Now: Studded Clutches

The Look Right Now: Studded Clutches

For some reason, I didn’t see this studded clutch trend coming. I don’t remember seeing a plethora of studs on the runway for Spring 2013, and heavy metal embellishments are usually more of a staple of fall collections (more on that tomorrow, actually). The more I thought about it though, these bags may have come about, at least in part, as a response to the enduring, perhaps even increasing, popularity of the Valentino Rockstud line, which has enjoyed seasons of success because of its smart combination of traditional femininity, luxury and toughness.

Some of these designers, like Alexander McQueen and Christian Louboutin, would undoubtedly be using the punk metal embellishments. For a brand like Tory Burch or Diane von Furstenberg, though, the Rockstud’s longevity is proof positive that women are drawn to the combination of two such disparate styles. Perhaps because bold details are more easily digestible in small amounts, the trend has manifested itself in tons of clutches, pouches and minaudieres. Below, we’ve picked the best, including plenty of colorful options that will make studs easier to pull off in the coming warm weather, starting at $128.

Whether it is super-saturated jewel toned exotic leathers, or silk scarves in bold designs and palettes, we are always enchanted by the colorful offerings from this design house. In this thread, members artfully coordinate their bags and scarves, resulting in over three hundred pages of sheer delight. We love sissy milano’s pairing of her croc Lindy with the beautiful Lilanga design silk carré.
