Now we may not jump into menswear territory too often, but with a mighty X Factor obsession bubbling away under the surface (the ratings plunge, yet we milk it endlessly) at all times this one was too much to resist for me. James Michael, the blue-eyed Liverpudlian singer who lost his place in the first week of live shows, has popped up on Net-a-Porter baby brother site Mr Porter- modelling fancy knitwear! Special Christmas treats for him perhaps?

So now there’s even more to spruce up that Christmas shopping list (beats a giant box of Maltesers!) And if oggling James’s enviable curls in the name of festivity isn’t enough (seriously, does he tong those ringlets?), this week boyband One Direction- last year’s X Factor runner’s up- have also been having something of a fashion moment. And it ain’t Topman for once. Here the lads are, shooting their new music video in Trafalgar Square- see here for the reaction of passing females/Twitter stalkers at the time-looking all grown up, and indeed a bit of probing has unearthed the news that Harry and Zayn are both wearing Aquascutum’s Colby coat.
