I’ve always been a skinny jeans lover: a year ago I used to hate any other kind of trousers. Then, all of a sudden, my wish to try new combinations brought me to try on a pair of harem pants, and something changed. I started to enjoy and then to feel in love with patterned trousers, always wanting to fit new ones in my wardrobe and in my everyday outfits.
One of those rare days of sun in Milan had to be celebrated: that’s why I decided It was time to wear the new Ki6 who are you? trousers you all asked me about after the Instagram photo and my favourite pair of wedges.
Da sempre sono amante dei jeans skinny: fino a un anno fa storcevo il naso quando pensavo ad un altro tipo di pantalone, che nel mio armadio non era proprio contemplato. Poi, all’improvviso, la voglia di sperimentare nuove combinazioni mi ha portata al primo paio di harem pants, e qualcosa in quel momento è cambiato. Ho cominciato ad apprezzare, fino ad arrivare addirittura ad amare i pantaloni a fantasia, cercandone di tutti i tipi e provando ad indossarli in mix sempre diversi.
Uno dei rari giorni di sole a Milano andava festeggiato a dovere: eccomi quindi indossare i nuovi pantaloni a fantasia di Ki6 who are you? di cui tutti voi mi avete chiesto info dopo la foto su Instagram e le mie zeppe preferite.

Last days in Milan before leaving for a very intense month: from Thursday I will be working in Los Angeles, then at Coachella, then in Dallas and Cabo in Mexico, and then back to Los Angeles and to New York.
Useless to say how happy I am right now: you all probably understood what traveling means to me, and being able to see the world thanks to my job makes me super excited and full of new energy and new ideas.
This is one of the looks I wore in my “milanese” weekend: It has that right mix between casual and chic that I feel like my own. Not only the materials and the shapes make this outfit special, but also the details: from the new Celine trapeze bag to the Tag Heuer watch and ring, that make the look definitely more sophisticated.
Ultimi giorni a Milano prima di partire per un mese molto intenso: a partire da giovedi sarò infatti per lavoro a Los Angeles, partirò per il Coachella festival e poi per Dallas e Cabo in Messico, per tornare a Los Angeles e poi a New York.
Inutile dirvi che non sto nella pelle: tutti voi avrete capito quanto per me viaggiare sia l’esperienza più gratificante al mondo, e riuscire a vedere il mondo grazie al mio lavoro mi rende sempre entusiasta e piena di nuove idee ed energie.
Questo è uno dei look indossati nel weekend milanese appena trascorso: possiede quel giusto mix tra casual e chic che sento molto mio. Non solo i materiali ed i volumi rendono speciale questo outfit, ma anche i dettagli: dalla nuova borsa trapeze di Celine all’orologio ed anello di Tag Heuer, che portano il look ad un livello più sofisticato.

Which is one of the most iconic pieces from maison Chanel? For sure the little black jacket, which was the main character of Karl Lagerfeld’s last book “The Little Black Jacket: Chanel’s classic revisited by Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld”.
To honour the famous piece Chanel launched “The Little Black Jacket” exhibition, in which were shown all the photos shot by Karl Lagerfeld on more than a hundred international personalities who revisited the iconic jacket in their own way.
What did I wear for the night? Of course a Chanel look, in which the little black jacket was the shining star.

Qual è uno dei pezzi iconici della maison Chanel? Naturalmente la giacca nera, a cui è stato dedicato l’ultimo libro di Karl Lagerfeld “The Little Black Jacket: Chanel’s classic revisited by Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld”.
Proprio in onore della sua famosa giacca nera Chanel ha inaugurato giovedi sera la mostra itinerante “The Little Black Jacket”, in cui sono esposte tutte le fotografie scattate da Karl Lagerfeld a più di cento personalità internazionali che hanno reinterpretato il capo iconico (potete visitare anche voi l’esibizione alla Rotonda della Besana, dal 6 al 20 aprile 2013).

When I received this April/May blazer with brocade sleeves I immediately thought about wearing it with this top: I like how the patterns seem to mix together. Lately I’ve also been obsessed about transparent shirts and tops: they’re the kind of thing I would wear everyday. Love how revealing they are, but at the same time they’re super chic.

Choosing was kinda difficult: one of the bags I really wanted to wear is this hula hoop bag, that I mixed with a top from Storets.

I have to admit it: I’ve never been a fan of middle seasons. I’m that kind of person that yes, can enjoy the half way, but not for more than two or three weeks. That kind of person that doesn’t even like winter times too much, or the one who can love them only to have a reason to drink hot chocolate, watch movies in bed, wear maxi sweater and colourful beanies. And also this for a limited time, and for a limited short time.
To explain in a few words: I love summer and temperatures above 20°, that let you wear all the combinations you want: booties with dresses, leather jackets with shorts, jeans with tops and sandals.
My “weather problems” grow when I’m in Milan in this season: we go from 5° one day to 17° the day after, from pouring rain to shiny sun. The most useful technique is layering, and in this case there is one piece of clothing which makes this transition from cold to warm weather easier: the trench. Perfect on a sweater, shirt or, like in this case, on a simle tshirt.

Devo ammetterlo: da sempre ho un problema con le mezze stagioni. Sono quel tipo di persona che si, può apprezzare la via di mezzo, ma per non più di due o tre settimane. Quel tipo di persona che non apprezza neanche particolarmente l’inverno, o che riesce ad amarlo veramente solo per la cioccolata calda, i film sotto le coperte, i maxi maglioni e le cuffie colorate. Ed anche tutto questo per un tempo limitato, e per un tempo limitato particolarmente corto.
In poche parole: adoro l’estate e le temperature sopra i 20 gradi, che ti permettono di indossare tutto quello che vuoi: vestiti con stivali, giacche di pelle con shorts, jeans con top largo e sandalo aperto.
I miei “problemi” di metereopatismo aumentano quando sono a Milano in questa stagione: si passa dai 5 gradi un giorno ai 17 del giorno dopo, dalla pioggia incessante al sole che quasi scotta. La tecnica più funzionante sembra quella del “vestirsi a cipolla” (o forse sarebbe più professionale dire “a strati”?), ed in questo caso c’è un capo che più di tutti rende semplice questa transizione dal freddo al caldo: il trench. Perfetto sopra ad un maglione, camicia o, come in questo caso, una semplice tshirt. Capace di dare carattere a tutto il look con un solo dettaglio: quello che indosso lo potete trovare su Storets.

I think it is only a matter of time before we start seeing more below-the-knee coats.
The real trick to getting the right fit is not really the length of the coat but how it fits at the shoulders. A correct fit at the shoulder will be essential to keep from looking overwhelmed in a larger coat.
However, some people look for that feeling of cocooning that a giant coat can offer, like we see here and here.
Lately I feel in such a more casual and rock mood than usual: this is the reason why the other day, while I was unpacking my bags from Brazil and Texas, I decided to wear this tshirt, bought during my roadtrip in United States last summer, and found by pure chance in my super messy wardrobe.
I’ve always been a huge fan of new shapes and particular mix: I created a total black outfit enlightened by the nude accessories.
Main characters among the accessories were the sunglasses, the new summer biker boots from my shoe line and of course L’Aura bag, that keeps conquering my heart.
Ultimamente mi sento molto più rock e casual del solito: ecco il motivo per il quale l’altro giorno, mentre disfacevo le valigie del Brasile e del Texas, ho deciso di indossare questa tshirt, comprata durante il mio viaggio on the road negli Stati Uniti la scorsa estate e ritrovata per caso nel grande casino del mio armadio.
Da sempre mi piacciono i volumi e i mix meno scontati: ho creato un outfit total black illuminato da dettagli color nude. Protagonisti indiscussi tra gli accessori gli occhiali da sole, i nuovi biker estivi della mia linea di scarpe e naturalmente lei, la nuova L’Aura bag, che continua a conquistarmi.

I’m so against the concept that “it was better back in the day…” that every time I get a better back in the day thought I give myself a slap (only in my head though, sheesh. I’m not masochist, nope.)
That said, I have to tell you : It was better back in the day…
It was better back in the day when every downtown didn’t look exactly the same and when you couldn’t find the exact same shops in Tokyo and Paris and New York. One of the best parts about traveling was bringing back things you couldn’t find back home.
It could’ve been trinkets, books, clothes, whatever…
For me, of course, it was outfits.
We’d bring back J.Crew from New York, Doc Martens from London, Invicta bags from Italy (please don’t google those if you want to keep any sense of confidence in my taste level)(Aaaalll right, go for it, Google them), Birkenstocks from Germany, and APC jeans from Paris… The list goes on.
We’d bring back suitcases full of stuff, bring back presents for our friends. It was enough to immediately transform you into a fashion hero. Oh, it was so good back then…
Now, you can find everything everywhere. And if you can’t find it in your city, you just have to go online.
I know… I mean… It’s pretty great. No more yearning, no frustration.
But let me tell you, one of my favorite things to do when I go to Milan is to go to Porselli. I love their ballet flats and get totally caught up in the non-marketed charm of the place.
The boutique has two Italian women who don’t understand a word of English. The logo obviously didn’t wasn’t born from a creative brief. Their website still uses Flash (so 2005). They fit it a little random, you have to try on the shoes. The colors too, meaning they ask for your size and then look in the back, climb a couple ladders (the ladders may or may not be random as well) and see what colors are left in your size.
You can order them if you want though: deliveries come in every Thursday.
And the cherry on top is that they’re pretty difficult to find outside of Milan, so the shoes alone are worth the trip.
A real asshole snobbish item, I mean. I love them.

This is another one of the new crop of fashion editors that I love to shoot. I love her haircut and consistent, understated style. I think she is a great reference for young professional women. 
We haven’t really spoken but every time I see Carola Bianchi (?) she looks so cool. 
Current public opinion seems to state that all fashion editors have unlimited amounts of cash and access to the closets of any designer collection in the world.
That’s simply not true.
There have always been and always will be cool young ladies making the most of the wardrobe they have earned. Regardless of how much they spend on their clothes, it’s young ladies like Enrica Ponzellini who initially drew me to shoot at fashion week and keep me coming back every season.
This week I will introduce you to some of my favorite unsung fashion stars; young ladies that continue to inspire me and will hopefully inspire you.

I think there’s something so charming about the dark quirkiness of these young ladies at the Marni show in Milan. 
At the beginning of February, just before leaving for fashionweek season, I took part in another exciting project: Vogue Spain asked me to pose for their “7 days/7 looks” section.
The spanish team came to my apartment and shot 7 looks chosed by me using clothes and accessories from my wardrobe: from the most casual ones to the most chic ones.

The exhibit this month at 10 Corso Como blew me away. The work of Milanese photographer Alfa Castaldi is simple, honest and full of humanity. The early work centered around Bar Jamaca in Milan during the 1950′s is my favorite.
I loved the shot of the girl looking out of a rainy window so much I had to buy it. It’s the type of image I love to see in the morning before I go out to shoot. It reminds how strong a simple moment can feel on film.
